Welcome.
Faith is the foundational principle in Catholic schools and the goal of Catholic schools is to make Christ known to students (Faith in Our Schools, 2014). It is no secret that teachers are the ones who educate students academically but in a Catholic school, teachers provide another learning component to students which demonstrates and strengthens their faith. A major distinction of Catholic school teachers from other teachers is their role to integrate the Catholic faith into every subject area (Faith in Our Schools, 2014). There exists certain criteria needed to be a Catholic school teacher and this website will explore the various policies, regulations and expectations that are required to become a Catholic school teacher. I intend to use Edmonton Catholic School District & Red Deer Catholic Regional School District as my main two sources of examples to describe the expectations of Catholic Schools.
